I'm a sociologist with a background in clinical sociology and counselling, and over 10 years of experience in mental health services and private practice.

I have worked in a variety of mental health settings, including community mental health services, psychosocial rehabilitation, telephone counselling and support, parent education and support groups, crisis intervention and suicide prevention. My experience also includes supporting people with severe mental health conditions, facilitating the psychosocial integration of refugees experiencing mental health difficulties, and providing ongoing support to people bereaved by suicide.

In my private practice, I combine sociological perspectives with counselling, approaching each person within the context of their personal experiences, relationships and social circumstances. My work focuses on understanding how difficulties develop and persist, alleviating distress, and helping people find ways of responding to life's challenges that are meaningful and realistic within their own circumstances.
